Does anyone have advise on procedures to remove the speedometer on my 59 vette? Does the steering column need to be droped? Does the lower instrument cluster need to be removed? ETC.
You don't have to dropped the Steering Column just remove the Steering wheel and the cover underneath the steering column, I have always removed the whole Cluster as one part.
Remember the two cables to Speedo and Tachy. Then loosen the two bolts which hold the Cowl handle and all wiring and remember to take away battery.Then you just have to loosen the 5 bolts which hold the Cluster.I hope you understand my school english and I hope this will help you and if i had forget something maybe there are others with comments.
A good investment to work with underneath the instruments are a Head Lamp
