Mystery cylinder head casting #'s 56

Got a friend just called who is putting a 56 together. He found a set of heads that belong to an 82 year old guy who claims they were "experimental" heads. Who knows ?

They are casting # 3726208. I can't find an application for this head. He says this is for sure the casting number and he is not misreading it.

    Thanks.

Tom, would be good to know the "exact" cast date code, any other cast or stampings under the valve covers and the casting symbols on the end of the heads. Photos of all of the above would be helpful. Casting # is very close to the 3725306 1956 pyramid (power pack) head symbol. Gary....

      Tom,
      Checked:
      "Corvette by the numbers"
      "Chevrolet V8 Casting Numbers"
      "Chevrolet Small Block ID Guide"
      Nothing showing on it.

He swears they are not 306's. That's the exact thought I had. Guy said he took these off of a 56 years agao and replaced them with the 306's. ?? I'll try to get the dates from him.

Casting dates are H36 and H86. At this time the symbols are unknown.
