Discount Tire has them too, and less expensive.

That's interesting, TireRack shows they are only available in 195R60 size in a 15".

I can't find any 15" Eagle RS-As in my Discount tire search.

              The reviews are damning.

                Jim,
Eagle RSA in that size never had RWL. They were available as whitewall and black wall, but the whitewall went away about five years ago. Now you will be lucky to get them, and if you are nervous about the date on those tires go shop someplace else. None of them have been made recently.

                Paul,
I have had 235 70 R 15 RSAs on my Caprices (both of them) since I bought them in the late '90s. They were the OEM tire, and that is what has been on the cars since they were new. I didn't write a review, but it might not show up under the size you are looking at anyway. It will pain me to put some other tires on the cars for their second quarter million miles. I can not praise them enough. They were good enough for law enforcement before I got the Caprices, and they have been superb for me since I have had them.

                  Thanks Terry,

Interesting comments about age (and reviews). Looks like the RSAs available are NOS. OK for most parts but not tires.

Just because they are shown on a web-site does not necessarily mean that you'll actually be able to get them if you order them. In a case like this where they show as "special order" the retailer might not have yet found out that if they order them, they won't get them. If they are able to get them, the chances are they will come out of some existing warehouse inventory and not from Goodyear.

Right, the Goodyear website only shows one 15" size, a 195X60X15. That must be the only new one they make.

Not sure what year you're looking to outfit with the Eagle RS but Kelsey now markets P225/7015 in its 1978-82 configuration. They are a reproduction of the original Good Year P series that preceded the Eagle RS series. He's also in process of manufacturing the Eagle GT series, predecessor of the Eagle RS series. In the 2003 tire article I reviewed a performance test of the three police pursuit tires conducted by DOJ for the benefit of police agencies.

The Firestone, General, and Goodyear were very close with the Firestone having a sight advantage if you only considered dry performance.

It was my choice due to a combination of the slightly better dry grip, and I also preferred it from an aesthetic viewpoint - both tread design and sidewall.

Take various tire retailer customer evaluations and blogs with a grain of salt.

Most people haven't got the foggiest idea how to evaluate a tire.
