It appears that my hood latches have to much movement and I am looking to replace them while I am restoring my car. Any recommendations on who produces the correct replacement or if anyone repairs the originals?

Re: Hood Latch Question
Do the hinges get judged? This is the original marking on 1966 427/425 hinges and folks have told me that big block vibration wears the pin hole those resulting in a replacement hinge.......see photos attached....I don't know if anyone has ever noticed the marking locations on the right and left hinges....Attached Files- Top

Re: Hood Latch Question
Hinges are subject to judging, how detailed I don't know, but they look at finish/paint. I'm not aware of hinge "wear" from hood vibration. The hinges are not tight new. Can you "shift/move" the hood in the closed position? If not then things are tight enough- Top

Re: Hood Latch Question
the c-2 judges will check out the hinges and make appropriate deductions if the mfgr logo is absent. in the pictrure in the first post, note the configuration of the spring washer. no one, to my knowledge, has the washers down correctly like that in the first post.mike- Top
