I need this for my '59 also. What type of cardboard is it?

We took an old black trunk divider board and used a speaker to template a piece for my '60 and '58 which had no radios. It is held in place by the speaker surround nuts, just like a speaker would be. From the top looking down through the grill, all you see is dark.

I suggest going to an Art store and buy a heavy Black Card Stock. You can a flat black or semi gloss.

Black one side, grey the other side.

doubt a radio-delete 56-7 radio speaker cardboard is the same as a 58-62 critter. but have been know to be mistaken before. mike

Here's a photo of a '56-'57 no-radio speaker cover; don't know if it's the "real deal" or not.

john: photo makes for difficulty in evaluating originality but the real mccoys had a manufacturer's logo stamped in the cardboard(lower left corner of your photo). originals were .075" thick and the cardboard was black clear thru the cardboard. there was no pattern(leather grain for example) on either side, ie , the surface is smooth. there were three #8 x 7/8" cad plated pan head phillips fastners each having a 1/2" OD .220 ID x .053 thick cad plated flat washers. i hesitate to describe the mfgr logo. mike

its real, its mine and its untouched! 1957 VIN #775 still unrestored.

If someone needs a repro they should contact Roger Brewer in Portland. I know he made them for the 56/57 but not sure about later cars.
