.....there are a few bulges on the wheel wells in the cargo area and under the seats.
Try this: Moisten a towel to the point that it is very wet but not dripping. Lay the towel on the bulged areas and apply heat from an iron. Make steam but don't let the towel dry out. More often than not, this will relax the carpet and cause it to better conform to the body contours. This "trick" also works on upholstery and headliners to remove wrinkles.
I just installed ACC carpet in a 67 conv. the fronts were not bad but the rear carpet were all made wrong the piping that is sewn on in some pcs was to long on others it was to short and in the back by the conv. springs it was all wrong, and the jack cover did not have the piping tails extending the extra inch. This car has the original J.P. Stevens carpet to match it up with so I know what to look for, I will try AK next time and see if they can do it right.
Take a look at Auto Custom Carpet.....ACC. Have used their carpet on a couple of cars. About as correct as you'll find.
I agree with the above post. I had excellant match with ACC. The nice women who works the customer service area, told me to send a sample of my existing 79 doeskin interior and she'll matched it up with a perfect or as close to a perfect matc as she can. She said they run a batch of color of carpet at a time and that over the years the exact color tone might not be what you removed out, but I swear they did and excellant job with a complete carpet set and it fit perfectly. My advice though, DO NOT cut anything till your sure it does in fact need to be done. I cut the opening for my front bucket seats about a half inch too much. Learned my lesson. It was my first time though.
Each day is a gift, respect it, and enjoy it as if it were the last!
