    Installing 67 BB (w A/C) Shroud & Radiator

    While it's fresh in my aging brain I thought I would post this information. I tried to install my new radiator & shroud for a week with no success. I looked for and received all kinds of advise. But finally I was lucky enough to have a expert come by. It was done in 5 minutes with zero damage!

    No need to move the A/C compressor or water pump. Remove the alternator adjustment bracket completely and swing back alternator. Remove both upper and lower hoses, all belts and upper pulley. Fan and fan clutch were already out. After fitting the A/C shroud extension (yet another story) remove it for the extra 2 inches it allows for.

    Position shroud in car against block with the water pump in the opening for the fan. Keep it up as high as possible. Drop radiator in about half way. Work both the shroud and radiator side to side keeping the drivers side high. Your job is to get the lower radiator outlet neck in position and outside of the should where it belongs and then down below the A arm. Now drop it down a bit and start getting the upper inlet neck behind the shroud. Push towards the passenger side to clear the A arm and drop it down.

    It actually can just drop in this way. I was amazed. A week of sweat and cussing for nothing !

    PS - The hood was also removed.

      Hello Stephen;

      Maybe someone will post how the fan shrouds were originally installed in St. Louis.

      Possibly the three pieces were assembled in the Corvette ?

        Ray -

        The three separate pieces were bonded together in an off-line subassembly fixture, and the shroud was draped back over the front of the engine prior to Body Drop.

          Thanks John;

          These shrouds are difficult to install, to say the least, during restoration.
          Thought maybe w/ all three pieces having ID letter tags there might be a remote possibility of assembly in the vehicle.
          Just my pea brain looking for a better solution.
