I'm doing a body off restoration and understand that there was undercoating applied in the fender wells, however my 68 also has undercoating thoughout the underside of the body. Some of these areas where the undercoat is, seems to have been applied from the factory. Has anyone seen this before?

Re: 1968 Undercoating
Alan, The dealers use to sell the undecoating pkg. by the hundreds, that maybe what your seeing.
Factory applied under coating was behind the front and rear wheels and generally and if the car had shoulder harnesses there was some applied to the metal support brackets above the rear wheels, it was a very thick coating in those areas. I think it was used for more of a sound deadner, for the stones being thrown into the area behind the wheels.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
