    67 B/B w/ A/C Horn mountings

Just wondering if my car has a prior owner mod or if anyone has ever seen this. My drivers side horn has been moved to the fender using the same plate as the AIM shows for the RH horn - except the plate on the LH side is not riveted to the inner fender. Then a ground wire was added from the horn mounting screw to a bolt that was screwed into the hole normally used by the locating tab of the AC relay on the top left of the radiator support (but on the front side of the support - the relay is on the engine side). The relay had to be rotated to free up this hole.

I saw a lot of cars in Charlotte with this relay rotated and not using the locating tab but could not see the back side because of the hood.

    Steve,

I looked at the AIM and it doesn't have any notes regarding the drivers side horn being different for S/B versus B/B.

Section 12, sheet A5 shows the horns, bolts to the radiator support.

I did page through the "BB" section (L36 and L71 section) and didn't see anything either, so I would have to say someone did this on their own.

Long Island Corvette's catalog notes only one horn plate is needed, and that's for A/C cars for the passenger side.

The horn is repositioned since the receiver/dryer sits along the condensor.

One thing I did see out of curiosity, DocRebuilds catalog notes "2 horn plates are required". Looking at several cars (all small blocks), everyone seems to have one plate for the passenger side if you have AC.

Without AC, passenger side horn bolts to the radiator support.

Good luck, hopefully some BB folks can give you some inout.

One more thing, the "not riveted" portion of your post amkes me think this
was done my some person. Generally GM riveted all these plates in place.

I would agree. Also the car was 2nd flighted at a local meet in 2002 and no one commented/noted/noticed this.
