The 3367 carb dated "591" (Sept. 1965, 1st week) on Ebay in the link below is advertised as original and also appears to be. The base has a single boss.
My 3367 carb dated "613" (1966, Jan. 3rd week) also has the "circle/plug" on the rear bowl just left of the name "HOLLEY" as shown in my 2nd photo below.
I'm sure that the judging guides are not sophisticated enough to have these small details. Remember, you were the one that that noticed the "circle/plug", not me. I will consult by brother ( a Ford man) who has had hundreds of Holley 4bbls (including Corvette Holley carbs) over the last 30+ years.
...Have you ever seen that circle / plug in the rear float bowl before ? That mine doesn't have .....
The circle plug is present on primary & secondary bowls of my List 2818, date 3A3, which I'm darn sure is original (owned since early '80s). However on a service 2818-1 that I have (4-digit date code), there is no circle plug on either bowl.
I got an email from my brother (a Holley expert in my opinion) and he said that the "circle/plug" on the rear fuel bowl was used on Holley 4 bbl's up until the mid/late 1960's. In my case it's the 1st week of Jan. 1966. It would be nice to find when the actual change took place. I doubt that this minor detail will ever make into the judging guides since many of the rebuilt or restored Holley carbs have parts from other Holley carbs.

For the record , I am certain it stoped being used by the last week in february 66 !! By March of 66 they were using the other bowls !!! Thats my story , and at least until my car gets judged , I am sticking to it !!!!
