My 55 manifold is really different than any I have seen. Please see Pics. It has a date of E / 99 That's it. The heat shield inside is larger than a regular 55 and the porting is very well done? GM kept the car until Sept. of 55 where it was sold as used? I'm not sure what they did with it from Jan to Sept?

I think you'll find the following coding to be correct for the date tag screws and the "casting clock" (the double-dots at 12 o'clock indicate the start of the shift). Info came from fellow NCRS member Mark Gorney at the Saginaw Foundry (now called Saginaw Metal Casting Operations); Mark has been there for over 30 years, and provided me with key research for my 2002 '67 intake manifold survey article in the "Restorer".
The date tag screws indicated the shift when the casting was poured:
