    C1 fan spacer

Hi to all ; Can anyone tell me if a fan spacer (mounts between the water pump pully face and fan) was ever used on the 56 265 engines to help with cooling. I have a 3" spacer that I am considering using. Also what is the correct degree themostat to put in the 56 265 . Thanks for the help, Jim

If I recall, a spacer is used. It is the same thickness as the motor mount bracket. This lines up the belt to the generator and water pump.

Bob: i believe you are thinking of the spacer that inserts on the crankshaft nose before installing the harmonic balancer. mike
