C-2 Inner Fender sound deadener, Help!

Originally an under-coating/sound deadener was sprayed in the fender wells, I believe to reduce the possibility of "star-bursts" in your paint. My inner fenders are clean now, my question is what would be the best undercoating to use for this application that would "best" protect against rock damage causing "A" surface paint damage? Any and all input will be appreciated.

    Looks like no takers, George.
Plenty of detail in the archives.

The thickest stuff you can find. No spray can stuff is like original.

      Applied like this.

Check with a body shop supply store, there are manufactures like SEM or Wurth have thick undercoat products that will match the factory texture. You would probably need to buy a special gun. I have also wondered how the spray on pick up bed liner material would work to protect the underside of the surround panel in the wheelhouse area. I have never tried it but the stuff is tough.

I have not tried it yet - but seems to fit the specs - Duplicolor makes a paintable undercoating # UC101, available at the local big box stores.
