57 Seat Separator Upper and Lower Molding Clips

I'm trying to install the upper and lower seat separator molding and have purchased reproduction clips from Paragon. I can't get the molding to snap over the clips. Is there a trick I'm missing? I've tried to compare the clips to one of the original clips and I can't see any difference.

Has anyone had any trouble with this? Any advice would be appreciated.

Start one edge and make a fist and hit them with the side of your hand

i lubricate the clips first(thin film vaseline ) mike
