    C1 rear harness

If you'd like your patience tested I would recommend installing the tailight and gas tank rear harness in a C1 (1954 specifically). What a fun thing to do on a lovely Saturday afternoon and evening! Squeezing the harness through the left rear fenderwell and then fishing out the section of harness that runs up the front side of the trunk and into the deck lid to feed the license lamps was a blast a minute.

Just thought I'd rant. Yes, I was sucessful in the end. No, I didn't say any cuss words...but I thought up a bunch of new ones.

the rear harness installation on a 53-55 is definitly ulcerogenic but the 53-55 antenna coax cable installation rates right up there with replacing the hinges on the door to hell. mike

And Mike is personally acquainted with the doors of hell, courtesy the Beast. And with St Pete's Sainted Gates, for the advice that he puts out.
If the Southwest chapter and its members still existed, he would have been the Next __________ of the Year. And our track record of John Amgwert, Noland Adams and Bill Clupper would have put him up there in what we considered exalted and deserving company - People Who Loved The Corvette.

They apparently consolidated/confirmed the borders to defend against the dreaded snowbirds. When we were Southwest, we took anybody - including two guys from Perth, Australia, even tho we lost $$$ on the newsletter postage. I think we sold a lot of memberships based on our aversion to partying vs. serious Corvette research. Bill Wilhelm, then of OK, referred to our Sedona presentation of Russ Sanders and Jim Gaylord as "The Best Kept Secret of NCRS.". Rosey Rosenberger and the guys from the Desert Proving Ground appeared the next year. Without judging, during the year it snowed on the event (Columbus Day) we had 67 Corvettes in the Poco Diablo parking lot - and a hole-in-one during the golf tournament.
I think our last semi-official contact with you was at the 40th anniversary Vintage races at Palm Springs in Fall '92. As I recall, you were fresh from the Bondurant school in the ZR-1.
Nobody served NCRS better than you, Mike. A couple of guys could tie, but nobody better.
