Aluminum Valve covers and Manifold Cleaning

Has anyone found a cleaner that takes the oxidation gas and oil off the aluminum valve covers and manifold? And makes them look clean and sum-what nice....???

until john degregory came along with a method to renew aluminum, i used Metal-prep, a phosphoric acid product available at any auto parts store. good luck,mike

john is one of the renouned FI restorers.he's from greensburg, pa. he also does aluminum. his method is a trade secret. you can send him yours for the re-skinning process. he ads in the driveline. good luck,mike

JD does valve covers but does not do carb intakes, only FI. That is what he told me so I sent my intake to Jerry MacNeish.

Try Albany Brake Parts Cleaner on a rag. It usually will do the trick.
