Would anyone know of any available original rocker covers for a 1963. I do not want to use the reproductions to complete my project. Thanks for any help on the scavenger hunt.

Re: Searching for 1963 Rocker Covers
Craig,
Someone may chime in with a set for you, but you would reach a larger audience with a FREE parts wanted ad in the Driveline. All you have to do is click on the link at the top of the page, put your ad in and it will come out in the Driveline. You may want to check the Driveline itself (also at the top of the page) for information on deadlines and issue dates.

Re: Searching for 1963 Rocker Covers
No problem, just thought I would mention it. I keep thinking one day they will get to this on the website, so we can enter ads that come out immediately. I have often had the problem of advertising in the Driveline, only to already have the car or parts sold by the time it comes out.

I am receiving other PM so I am not sure why it did not work when you sent one. Are these good restoration candidates? Any large dents?- Top

Re: Searching for 1963 Rocker Covers
Craig;
Sorry for the delay in responding, but been busy with garage projects. Have to get things done while the cooler weather holds here in central Florida.
The rocker panels/covers are straight w/o dents, but I'm not sure what constitutes good reconditioning candidates. They seem to me to have an anodized like finish and I know nothing about how you refinish/polish that stuff. The same holds true for my original step plates (got those fine scratches, etc.). A good clean up would probably tell the story, specially in the grooves where there is some pitting (?, or could just be road tar?) and some rust around the bolt holes which was probably transfered from the original bolts. I have them taped together with some other items so I need to remove that duct tape gook first to better evaluate them.
