What do you mean "open up the holes, a little deeper"?Do you mean bigger diameter? Plate is thin and the hole goes all the way through;so, how do you make a hole that's a hole already "deeper." Not being wise just want to understand, since I've also had the problem of the nut only minimally catching threads on mount. Thanks in advance.

Had a similar issue with my 67. Off the road since '79--to be back on in April. Taking the antenna nut off after all these years took some threads off the antenna lead. I ended up grinding the tops of the tabs on the cast portion of the antenna lead. That got me about 1 turn on the top, which was all I needed.

        Re: 1967 Antenna Mounting

After checking the 3921439 Bezel part number, it is called out in the 1968, 1969 and 1970 AIMs. The P&A shows this part number for 1968 & 1969 (not 1970), and then the P&A shows it again for 1973 Corvette. With my father's 1974 Corvette being a first day of production car (VIN 00078, birthday book says August 20, 1973), I suppose it's possible they were still using up the 3921439 antenna bezels from 1973 model year. I don't have a 1973 or 1974 AIM to check for any revisions or dates of changes. As far as I can tell, the GM 3921439 antenna bezel was a Corvette-only part.

The antenna bezel the 1967 AIM says should have been used (GM 3903427) for 1967 is listed in the 1967 Radio Catalog, and again in the 1973 Radio Catalog (Gr. 9.647). I don't have Radio catalogs for '68-'72 or 1974 onward, and the radio catalogs don't specify model years associated with specific part numbers the way regular P&As do.

So it seems the GM 3903427 antenna bezel did exist at one point. I have never seen one, and I have no good explanation for what an old GM 3921439 antenna bezel was doing in a drawer with a GM 3863499 antenna cap.
