The owner added the vin stamping on the block and it matches the vin on the window.
Is it normal for this area to be sprayed? The first letter on the stamping looks like a "1" and on the corresponding area on the windshield fram vin it is a "T".
Any expert advice on this??
I apologize if this is an improper post in this section. Anything jump out to you as incorrect in this car?

Steve,
As far as the derivitive number on the pad, it appears proper for that vehicle. The break down is as follows;
1 - Chevrolet
5 - The year (1975)
S - Vehicle assembly plant (St. Louis)
428626 - sequential assembly number
As far as the pad being painted, I believe it is covered during engine painting but there may some paint on parts of the pad.
A '75 would not have had a painted pad when it left the factory. Seller mentions a cam swap so possibly the paint was simply touched up while the front of the engine was apart.
The wheels are not original, nor is the header type exhaust system but the seller acknowledges this. No power brakes, but deluxe interior, P/S and P/W, unusual combo.
Hard gas line seems to have a section of rubber tubing spliced in (?) Carb swap?
1975 L82 4-speeds should also have an AIR pump, diverter valve, and plumbing down the passenger side of the engine. But I am sure that stuff went out when the headers went on.
