    Re: 1969 Corvette finished

Congradulations, theres somthing about a black car! I have a soft spot for the early C-3s also.

Owning several black cars, just an FYI on caring for black beauty. A little extra effort goes a longway. I inspect every inch of a mit (used only for that car) and towel (New ones) before it touchs my car, I use a new microfiber towel every time I touch mine, some of my car buds think I'm nuts, but thats ok. They just get cycled threw to other cars or other uses in the shop.
One tip on caring for those microfiber towels is hand wash using a bar of ivory bar soap.

    Real nice looking car!

    Save the wave.

Thanks all for your nice comments. Now that I have figured out how to post pictures, I'll try taking a few of the engine compartment and interior when the rain stops, shouldn't complain, we need the snow in the mountains. The car is not a matching numbers car, the build date on the car is December 68 and the 350/350 is from a October 69 Corvette. I know the gentleman who purchased the car from the original owner in Seattle back in 1979 and brought it to the Olympic Peninsula and this is the same engine that was in it when be bought it. He never knew it was not the original motor until later, thirty years ago when he was young buying his first Corvette, he didn't think of things like that. He later sold it to another guy who sold it to the guy I bought it from, So sometime in the cars first ten years of life, something happend to the original engine and I'm guessing a replacement was found in a wrecking yard from another 69 vette. The ID plate on the console calls for a 350/350 so at least it was replaced with a like motor from the same year. The tank sticker is long gone since the tank was replaced a couple years ago from the guy in town I bought it from.
