Experienced Opinions. A friend of mine asked this question yesterday. He will be installing a new front clip onto his 69 convertible BB corvette. The existing front clip was halved years ago. This is a running, driving, nice car. No visible frame damage from earlier collisions. He is wondering if it would be a good idea to install new body mount Cushions and shims now before the front clip gets changed out. Neccesary or not? Or, should he complete the frame restoration first, and carefully set body back on the freshened straightened, if necessary, frame and bolt down body with new body mount cushions and shims. Then change out the front clip. Let me also state, this frame is very, very nice, absolutely no scale or rust issues whatsoever.
