1962 Heater Delete Option 610 (Defrost Bezels?)

Are the defroster bezels and "funnel" ducts which normally attach to them..... on a 1962 Section 610 Heater Delete car?

Exactly what else is "special"? I searched and found this thread

and talks about the dum-dum in the holes where the heater hoses enter the firewall but no other mention of special treatments.

    Thanks,
    Rich

my feeling is that the funnels and bezels would have been present on such a vette.mike

The holes were already stamped in the pads, thus the bezels--and our experience is ducts as well.

Thanks.......A friend and I were talking about heater delete 62's and wondered about that. The 62 AIM Contents has FOA 101, but has a big CANCELED box in it and says Released as Regular Production. See Sec B & 11-13. There it shows all of the heater parts and electrical pieces for it.

In Sec 610 sheet 1 of 1, it shows the control knob, heater box, and fresh air entry covers, and what appears to be 2 special firewall insulation pieces.

The page is titled "LESS HEATER EQUIPMENT (EXPORT)".

Can this mean that there was NOT a heater delete on domestic '62 shipments, or just a paperwork oddity?

Anyone here have a US '62 with Section 601 heater delete?

        Thanks,
        Rich

          Rich -

I expect the "(EXPORT)" is just an oddity in the description. Export wasn't a necessity for the heater-delete option until the MVSS requirement for a defroster in all cars became effective on September 1, 1968.
