I had a nearly complete rolling chassis until I bolted on my starter and found that my flywheel is incorrect (gear teeth not even close). I looked in the archives and found that the correct flywheel diam is 14"/168 teeth. My car project is a 58. My current flywheel from NAPA is 13". I disassembled my set up down to the incorrect flywheel and bought a 14" flywheel from NAPA. My "correct" clutch kit from CC is a 10" clutch and will not fit the flywheel (incorrect bolt spacing for the pressure plate).
Somebody please school me up on this...I assume the fix is finding a larger clutch kit. NAPA has a 3 finger B&B 11 inch kit that can be special ordered at about $124. Your advice would be greatly appreciated, even though "trial and error" has an educational benefit, I would rather not have to take everything down again...although, my technique seems to be that it takes 3 attempts in order to get anything right.
Thanks,
jim
