Re: Seatbelt Restoration
Has anyone used Don Krebs to restore seat belts? He came highly recommended from a friend. I need to have my lap belts refurbished on the '68 and to purchase shoulder belts. Thanks for any information. Also, I will contact Charlie too but like to now about Don.Terry Buchanan

Re: Seatbelt Restoration
Joe,
Were the Ssnake Oyl rubber boots repros of good originals? One of my boots is torn and as far as I know the repros are all configured differently. I think the repros have a slot where the long metal mounting arm goes thru and the originals don't; or vice versa.
Gary
Thanks for educating me on the difference between the repros and the originals. Here's a picture of the boots before I sent the seat belts off for restoration. Look at post #7 for a picture of the repros. The repros have a hole that isn't there on what I think are originals. It wouldn't let me post the picture again here.

Thanks for educating me on the difference between the repros and the originals. Here's a couple pics to illustrate the difference.

Re: Seatbelt Restoration
I did it myself including paint. I am never going to have my car judged, but it is a matching numbers 66 roadster that I have owned for 40 years.
I could not reproduce the labels but cleaned up the buckles and sewed new webbing.

Re: Seatbelt Restoration
Mark, I found this post looking for a restorer and contacted Charlie.
Turns out, 3 of the 4 pieces are original. One buckle was replaced - so, I'm hoping to find one if Charlie
doesn't have one.
Your photos were very helpful.- Top

The early "short" boots are VERY hard to find and they are not reproduced. They are also expensive to buy if the seller knows what he/she has.... Charlie can modify the repops to look close to what they should be, but you can tell the difference.- Top

Re: Seatbelt Restoration
I will add I think Charlie is very reasonable and upfront with what he can achieve. The quality was above my expectations.Brad Davenport
