70 parking light and tail light gaskets

Seems all the vendors have reproductions available. R there any differences and is there a preferred supplier?

How do the repros compare to the originals? Density, thickness, fit etc.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Bill, I bought a gasket kit from doc. rebuild, there was only thing I used, the lock cylinder gaskets, all other gasket were not worth using, it was just dye cut foam sealing strips, so I just left all the original gaskets where there were, they are of much better quality and would say they can be re-used as long as there in one piece still.

That is exactly what I am afraid of. Thanks for saving me the trouble.

My front gaskets in particular are shot. The lens rattles around.

HI Edward and thanks for the offer.

I have located some NOS gaskets. I am just not sure I want to pay the price.

I will keep your generous offer in mind.

Bill, I don't know the the nos ones are exactly like the originals gaskets, they are white on the originals, maybe Joe L. will chime in.

I thought I rear something on the nos gaskets a while back. but either way it wouldn't hurt to ask before you shell out the money.

I asked for detailed pictures and they match the originals in color. Comes in original packaging too.

It really comes down to what I am willing to spend to get original parts as they become harder to find. I am a little surprised there is no decent repro out there.

Mine are grayish in color and are a dense foam rubber.

I like the idea of $3.00 gaskets versus nos at maybe $25 per gasket or more.
