      Mask the area w/cardboard or whatever is handy, a quick shot of spray- paint remover and a toothbrush. May need two shots of paint remover to lift the paint with no scratches.

        I don't know if this is correct but I used paint thinner on a rag to clean the over spray off on a engine rebuild. It worked great and left no scratches
