    C2_Horn mounts with AC

    63 Convertible

In the section of the 63 AIM dealing with AC, there is a note regarding rotating the passenger side horn to make clearance for some tubing, but no comment regarding the driver side. I have added an after market AC and the condenser mounting on the front of the radiator mount frame is almost identical to that pictured in the AIM. Any comments regarding horn placement in this situation?

Since you have a non-original, aftermarket, A/C system I think it makes little difference on how you mount your RH side horn so long as there's sufficient clearance between the horn and the A/C system's refigeration lines. You're looking at a full deduction on the aftermarket A/C system anyway, so horn orientation is of little/no consequence beyond the issue of mechanical interference...

The reason there was no factory relocation of the LH horn is simple. Threre were no refigeration lines on that side of the car to create an interference possibility.

On 67s ac'd cars there was a backup plate infront of the right hand tire, that let you move the horn about 6 inchs to the right, all you had to do is drill a 5/16 whole through the skirt.
