I am looking for a replacement EF switch. I didn't have any luck with various sources. Any suppliers for this switch?

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
This is not a part you want to need. The original GM part number was GM #3886910. However, it was discontinued without supercession in March, 1975. It was also used on 1966 full size Chevrolet passenger cars, but on no other models or years. That fact does not "bode well" for interest on the part of reproduction manufacturers. However, it might still be available in the reproduction/replacement market somewhere. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
Walter,
The 1966 Pass. & Corvette hazard flasher switch is GM part number 3886910 (in Gr. 2.575) as per my 1966 Chevrolet parts catalog (effective Oct. 1965). Apparently there were no other applications for the 3886910 switch except for the 1966 Corvair as shown in my other parts catalogs.
Isn't the hazard switch located in the upper steering column assembly? I can't really remember. I finished restoring my 66 Corvette back in 1995.
If so, I do have a 1966 Chevrolet passenger car steering column somewhere in my garage attic that I removed from a 1966 Chevrolet back in the 1980's.Last edited by David L.; January 11, 2010, 03:52 PM.- Top

I do not know if this matches up, but this is up for auction. Is this the same as a Corvette?

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
Hum, I pulled one off a '66 scrap yard Cadillac about a year ago. Other than the specific steering column harness connector and the way the module was mounted in the cockpit, it was identical to Signal Stat assy used by Chevy...
Didn't New York state 'renegade' back then requiring all cars offered for sale after XX/XX/YYYY to be equipped with emergency hazard flashers?- Top

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
Yes, they did - '66 cars had to have them. They did the same thing a few years later, requiring all cars to have rear window defoggers.- Top
