Just for a point of reference, I once owned '64 S/N 838 and there were NO carryover '63 parts on the car, circa 1978 original car without any mods.

Same with my early build (first week) '64 - nada '63 parts. The Muncie 4-speed carries the original VIN #.

I asked this same question a couple years ago as my 64 had some 63 parts on it. Mine was a little earlier; Oct 63 build date. It had 63 fiberglass headlight buckets, a 63 master cylinder, and 63 seat frames with 64 upholstery. But, after talking to a lot of knowledgeable people I came to the conclusion that Bubba did it. I don't know how or why it got this way but I'm convinced that it did not come from the factory with any 63 parts.

Most likely and I know you don't want to hear this but your car was stripped by the hood.

Someone found a 63 in the junk yard and put it back together.

Like most said SOME of the parts will not fit a 64 unless BUBBA is rigging the installation.
