    trickle charger C2

I am hooking up a trickle charger to my 65 and I have a quick disconnect on the battery. Question: should I leave it on or off while charging.....and as the instructions say....hook the hot to the post and the black to the engine block? Thanks

I would turn the switch off and use the charger directly on the battery terminals.

The disconnect should be on the ground side? Mine is. Thanks Wayne

Yes, that is the prefered side, and why you have to use the battery terminal for hook up of the charger.

As I reported in a previous thread, I just put in a new battery and will continue to use a Battery Minder from Restoration Battery. What I did this time though is use a pair of brass under terminal discs (one on each post)that have three faston spade connectors. Then, I took the pig tail that came with the charger that has round lug connectors, cut them off and replaced them with female fastons. I tied the pigtail to my wire loom sort of semi permanent, and use the in line connector as you would with the clamp pig tail. The wired in pig tail in line plug has a cap with a tie strap to the wire. Makes for a handy and quick hook up in your garage - and you don't have to figure out which is the positive connection anymore. With a pair of the other spade contacts on these brass discs, I've connected up a Battery Condition check meter which I mounted with velcro on the fire wall (also available from Restoration Battery). It's a good way to check and make sure your charger is doing the job - specially after the car has been sitting awhile.
