    66 Fuel Line Loom

Are there two fuel line looms on the gas line front to rear and what are they made of? The car is a 66 convertible L79.

    1. On kick up where line enters frame on right rear.
    2. Inside frame on right rear.

    What are their main purpose?

    Thanks,
    Eddie

    Eddie,

the loom was made of an isulating material (possibly asbestos based). It went on the fuel line back by the gas tank. Where the line is inside the frame rail positioned to line up with the muffler to keep the heat out. There was only one used.

      Thanks Rich,

The reason I asked is every photo including the AIM clearly shows some
kind of wrap on the the line at the kick up, but I see no reference to it.

      Regards,
      Eddie

        Eddie,

what you are most likely seeing is the steel armor wrap in the AIM.

          Rich,

Are there any supply houses offering this? I can't find any reference to it at Paragon or any of the other suppliers I have been using during the restore.

          Regards,
          Eddie

I hate to ask, but can you provide the section and part #. I just looked at their on-line
              catalog and can't locate it.

              Regards,

                    Eddie,

That comes as part of the fuel line I have never seen it sold seperately.

                      Rich,

That certainly helps clear things up. I must be missing mine from the SS set I ordered.
I assume this armor protects the fuel line from making contact with the body and rubbing against it.
Is it just a wire loom inserted over the line?

Thanks again for helping clear that up for me.

                      Regards,
                      Eddie
