The door jambs are being cut in this weekend. I have the urge to drill out the trim tag rivets and do it right rather than taping aroud the tag and having paint build up at the edges. But, I'm concerned that the new rivets may not look right and that it would raise questions about the car. What do you guys think?
Should I remove the trim tag?

If you have to remove it for some reason, that's one thing, and I'm sure there's a way to deal with it properly. But if you don't have to remove it, it seems a whole lot safer to leave it alone. That's what I think, but I look forward to the replies of much more experienced people here.- Top

Re: Should I remove the trim tag?
Tape it. One trick to help avoid the paint buildup on the edges is to take regular Scotch tape and slide it under the edges of the tag then fold it over the tag and stick it down. The tag will be protected and you will have very minimal build-up. Whatever you do though, don't mess with the tag.Kurt Geis
