    Craigslist, the economy, good stuff

Some of you have read my post about the '68 427 engine I found a few weeks back.

    Here's another "found" item.

Little Rock Craigslist ad for '68 Vette parts from a restoration project "gone bad".
All parts described as restored or new: headrest seats, all bumpers chromed, outer door handles, a/c ducting, all wiring and fiber optic harnesses, marker lights, window regulators, wiper motor, all interior gauges/dashes/consoles/kick panels/original door panels, and much more---$900.00 OBO.

Somewhat skeptical I call and ask for more info, and I ask what happened to the Car. Owner proceeds to tell me he bought it in jan. of '69 from the original owner (April '68 delivery car) and has owned since. Continues to tell story about bad luck with the car, and how his family believes that the car is hexed.
Tells me car is in a restoration shop in La., all body work done, nothing owed to the shop, and that he would sell parts and the car for $2,500.00

Now I am really suspicious, but go ahead and ask more questions, get the name of the restoration shop, call the shop owner, and basically everything meshes.

Picked up the Vette yesterday---very nice.

Got the title and every piece of original paperwork including the protect-o-plate in original clear pouch.

Photos to follow (likely Fri. or Sat.---T Day festivities have begun.

17,000 ish production, 327/350hp, a/c, two tops, 4 speed, blue/blue. (engine and trans long gone)

Of interest was one of several maintenance bills---dated 10/1/68 for a lube, oil change, pvc service and adjust carb idle----4.72 labor, total bill 8.72

One thing about Craig's List that annoying is that some post the same piece of unsellable crap on the list every single day. There's a guy on the NYC list trying to sell a "corvette jacking pad" for $15. I almost feel like buying it so I don't have to see the post any more.....wait... maybe that's his point.

No different than the infamous Corvette muffler bearings that show up on Ebabes ever now and then.

I check the Craigslist in the Atlanta area pretty often and get a slow serve of nothing then all of a sudden get these waves of NOS stuff for C1 and C2's from people clearing out a garage, going out of business or whatever...figures, I'm working on a C3 and everyone is selling C1 & C2 stuff, guess what happens if I decide to restore a one of those?
