    67 BB Fan Shroud

    Need a little help settling a disagreement about the correct fan shroud for a 67 BB. The assembly manual shows the BB fan shroud as having a cut out which looks to be about 4-5 inches square in the upper left corner. I am told that the AIM is NOT correct and there should NOT be a hole in the BB shroud. If the AIM is correct, would the the shroud that looks like it would work on a 67 BB be correct for? Thanks for your help getting this settled.

      Hey Steve,

      yep 66-67-68 BB fan shrouds have the "square" cut out.

          Hi guys Rich I think early 66s did have the "square" cut out for the alternator. Phil 8063

              What was the purpose of this cutout ? Anyone know if it's possible to "modify" say a "69 vintage shroud to be identical to the original 66 67 ??

                          SB shroud has the same cutout - it's for alternator cooling airflow.

                                  I think what you might have seen (a 67 with no cut out) is an OLD OLD OLD NOS shroud. I have had several that did not have the cut out. Also one or 2 of those had the large angled cut on the bottom of the passenger side.

                                      SORRY TYPO early 66s DID NOT have the square cut out for the alternator. It seem most people dont read all the post, because they ask questions about things that are addressed, such as the alternator hole. Phil 8063
