On the passenger side of the firewall there is a small vacuum hose that goes thru firewall. This is the vacuum sorce for the heater controlls. It is not connected for some reason. Thru the searce I found it is suppose to be "t" in at this point to anothe line. My question is which line is this suppose to be connected too. I have the main supply line coming from manifold or red or white striped line. Thanks Ed

Re: Vacuum hose connection
There IS a vac line in that general viscinity that's NOT supposed to be connected to anything... That's the vent hose from the wiper door's wiper arm parking switch.
The reason there's a short run of vac hose from the switch through the firewall is to keep the switch's vent vacuum from sucking airborne water. From your description, I can't tell which hose you're refering to specifically. But, this one would run into the cowl area and connect to the park switch that the RH wiper arm strikes when it assumes its final rest position.- Top

Re: Vacuum hose connection
Ed:
I f the hose you are describing is very skinny (like a windshield washer hose) it does indeed go to the heater control head and is connected to a tee. The tee has one very skinny branch and two regular size off each end. I will have to look at my '69 later today to see where the large hoses come from and go to. The hose Jack is referring to is cut off very close to the firewall and is a regular size hose which would be much larger than the one I think you are referring to.

Jeff is right. That tiny hose tees into the yellow-striped hose that comes off the center port of the wiper door relay and goes to the vacuum tank. Mine has a small metal clip to secure it to the tee. I placed the tee a couple of inches off the port, after it makes the turn to go to the tank.

Re: Vacuum hose connection
You have the correct hose (yellow) and I know about the Tee its impossible to find. Doc Rebuild has a replacement however it's not correct as the small end comes off on the end rather than the center. If you find a source for the correct one let me know because I need one too.- Top

Re: Vacuum hose connection
Hi Ed,
I believe that 'T' has been pretty difficult to find. So please post the source if you do find it.
