C3 Parts ID Help Please? Fuel Lines and A/Clnr Hose pcs

A older acquaintance of mine has boxes of stuff to identify but my C3 knowledge is pretty narrow. He had a 68 or 69(?forgot yr) convertible, I think a big block car.

I looked online in catalogs etc for similar pieces but came up short.

-Fuel lines(these are stainless with gold/yellow plated fittings)
-GF-90 filter(I think serv repl due to cuts on ends)
-Hose 39?2336 GR 1.762(inside bend says "3/4 9985382 EBJ", & a few red and white paint dabs on it)
-Metal elbow & rubber fitting(oddly no hole in small end)
-Screen, stainless but soft steel rim.

    Thanks,
    Rich

The screen is a flame arrestor, and goes inside the air cleaner base.

No 1968-69 Corvette ever used a GF-90 fuel filter. All 1968-69 with Q-Jet used a GF-432 which was similar to a GF-90 but had a fuel return nipple. The GF-90 was used for some 63-65 applications.

The fuel lines are the "2 part style" used with 68-69 Corvette applications also using the GF-432 filter. However, the configuration of the filter-to-carb section does not look right to me. It might be, though, and, if so, I'd say it's the small block line.

Also, these lines do not appear to me to be stainless. They look like just regular, 'ol TBW. Check with a magnet to be sure. The fittings are definitely not stainless, but not all stainless lines use stainless fittings. In any event, no original application ever used stainless lines or fittings.

The filter bracket does look like the 68-69 GF-432 bracket.

John, I thought it may have been that. Thanks.

Joe, I checked the lines with a magnet and yes they are stainless. Ends are steel. Ok.... I have a GF90 on our 63 so I guess I now have a spare. As to the hose and fittings, 3932336 appears to be the number, and I did find reference to non 427/454 usage. Elbow and rubber piece still unknown.

        Thanks,
        Rich

Yes, I forgot to ID the PCV system parts. The hose is a GM #3932336 which is applicable to 68-72 Corvette big blocks with 4 barrel carbs.

The connector (elbow) is a GM #3868842 applicable to 65-72 Corvette big blocks. It connects the above-referenced hose from the air cleaner base fitting to the below-referenced grommet in the passenger side valve cover.

The grommet is a GM #3989347. It was originally used for 1973 Corvettes and is SERVICE for 65-72.

The elbow looks to be a standard crank case ventilation elbow used on many corvettes both SB and BB. The attached picture shows it in use on my 68 435hp car. The rubber piece is the valve cover grommet the elbow would press into. You have to cut the end of it off.

John, great photo.....much clearer now, thank you.

Joe, Thanks for your research. After your last post I researched a bit more. I also suspected fuel lines of stainless were not stock. These I have are SS so must be aftermarket. Looked again online and found what appears to be the same profiles. Zip#s Z-132(steel), Z-132SS(stainless), application is 68-69 300&350hp.

One other thing I should have mentioned: while the canister section of the GF-90 and GF-432 filters are similar except for the fuel return nipple on the GF-432, the end fittings are different. The GF-90 used NPT fittings; the GF-432 used flare-type fittings with tubing nut. In fact, that may be why someone installed what appears to be an adapter on the pictured GF-90.

Coincidence, a friend and I were just talking about that same thing earlier today when you posted. We saw online the GF432 had flared ends for these pipes.

He has a 73 he's restoring, with a 69 350/350 and we were going to use these lines on his car. He has the 73's fuel pump on the car, with the return built in.

The original 73 engine came with the car on a dolly, fuel pump now on the 69. We see that the pump outlets are different configurations, so he can't use these pipes. We're thinking of getting a GF-432 filter and changing the pump to the 69 pump which is in a box of parts that came with the 69 engine.

He has to do something as bubba cut the pump to carb line and added hoses and a plastic filter inline. We learned that 73's had no inline filter, only using the bronze screen in the carb.

                  Thanks,
                  Rich

For the 1969, I would recommend going with the 1969 configuration. You can obtain the pump-to-carb fuel lines in reproduction from Dr. Rebuild or any of the Corvette vendors. I would also use the 1969 pump but if the one you have is used, I wouldn't put that on the car; I'd get a new one.

The big problem will be the GF-432 filter. The last of these that GM made were a larger OD than originals and will not fit in an original GF-432 bracket. They are no longer even available from GM but might be available through Delco.

NOS original GF-432 filters usually sell for BIG $$$$.

Rich p.s. I must say I've learned much about the C3's while helping him out on occasion with his restoration of the '73. They certainly are a lot more complicated than the C1's!
