    1979 Key Style

I have read the Operations section of the Third Edition of the 1978-1979 Tech Info Manual & Judging Guide, and searched the Technical and Archived Forums. I have been unable to determine whether the 1979 square and oval headed keys, as delivered with the car, are black plastic coated or not. I purchased the car from the original owner a number of years ago and am no longer able to contact him to ask him about the keys. Any assistance is appreciated.

I don't believe the 79 keys had the black covers on the heads.

I believe my keys are original and they don't have the black covers.

Thanks Jerimiah. That seems to be the consensus of opinion. It makes me wonder what the original owner did with the keys. Unfortunately, he moved and I no longer am able to contact him.

            Tom

If you need original style keys, they are available. I probably have the blanks here at the dealership. Let me know what letters you need and I'll check.
