C6 Nose Bra

I am considering purchasing a nose bra for my C6, can anyone shed some light on what brands are the best(leBra, GM, etc). thanks jer

I had a clear bra professionally installed on my C5. The company I used in Mass is called Autobahnd. Not sure about your area. It is a 3M product. It is barely visible and provides great protection on trips. It also doesn't look as ugly as some of the vinyl bras, like the GM bra.

To maintain it, just treat it like your paint.

I agree with Paul had a similar product installed almost 3 years ago on my 06 still looks great. I chose the option for the outside mirrors, back of wheel wells, rocker trim and headlamps. At that time cost was $650 installed they discounted because I had 2 cars done. Paul 18046

It all depends on what your personal tastes are. I have had experience with four different cars using the vinyl bras and one car using the clear bra. Here are my personal pros and cons with each.

Clear Bra: The least visible. Results of install very dependant on the installer. Once its on its on. No time lost putting on and off. It can be used on places that vinyl bras can't protect. My only dislike outside of the higher cost is if it takes a hard hit the clear bra shows the damage and other than it saves the paint it still leaves a flaw that is as visible as a paint chip. You either live with it or have the piece replaced.

Vinyl Bra: The best nose and mirror protection IMHO. You can have screen sewn in to keep bugs out. After initial fit not that hard to take on and off. You need to keep very clean on the backside to avoid paint damage. ( I've never had any damage that didn't easily polish out and have found that using the stretchy Scotch brand electrical tape applied to the paint in areas of the attaching points prevents any damage in those areas ). The Speedlingerie comes in colors but is more expensive. I've always used Colgan bras which I think are great at a fair price. They only come in black.

Speed lingerie is the one I have on my 06. Color matches perfectly. Granted, it doesn't do much for the looks of the car, but it provides superior protection and only takes a couple of minutes to take off. After you've done it a couple of times, only about 5 minutes to re-install. Not cheap, but cheaper than a new nose paint job every couple of years.
