Couple of more questions while we're on the subject of C2 driers.
Here's 3 thumbnails and one big pic; The bottom of my NOS (circa 1983) and a 'donor' are stamped (ie. no stickers). Thumbnail pic #1 shows bottom of the latter with 'X' (faint stamp bounce) [space] 'H' [space] 'I'. The NOS one (no pic) is stamped 'B' [space] '5' [space] 'K'. There are NO stampings on my original '65 drier; just the exposed aluminum where the sticker used to be.
Re Wayne W's pic showing sticker; I thought the sticker might have been put on first, then drier painted over the sticker (based on mine).
My other 2 thumbnails: #2 shows a square boss opposite the sight glass. My original '65 does NOT have this, just round like the opposite side (pic # 3) and as shown in Jeff's shot.
Also, just above the 'COND' inlet, there's a letter stamped on the NOS and donor canisters. But on my original '65 there is NO letter stamped.
Were these just running changes throughout the C2 era ?
The big auto-load pic is to show the detail of the sight-glass plug.

COMMENT: The NOS driers in separate boxes from SERVICE seem to have these letters with the green marking on the top. Some are painted and some are natural.
Re Wayne W's pic showing sticker; I thought the sticker might have been put on first, then drier painted over the sticker (based on mine). COMMENT: I have seen driers like Wayne W's from Dealer Add on A/C units where you can read the inspection stickers. I think the earlier driers were painted lightly and then repainted. I'll have to look again and see if I can tell more about the painting, inspection sticker sequence.

COMMENT: I've seen both configurations but don't know if there is a production time period. I have a late 66 Chevelle with one configuration and an early 67 Corvette with another configuration and I believe both driers are original to the cars.
Also, just above the 'COND' inlet, there's a letter stamped on the NOS and donor canisters. But on my original '65 there is NO letter stamped. COMMENT: Don't think either of my original driers have a letter stamped above the inlet; but need to check and confirm.
Were these just running changes throughout the C2 era ? COMMENT: Probably some running changes and also some ways to identify SERVICE item.
Reference my picture. This picture was taken in the early eighties of a very low mileage original car. I doubt many people would have even known about them or cared back then. I have no doubt that it is original. As to whether some were painted after the sticker was applied, I don't know. It would have been very easy for them to have been resprayed black when a car was repainted. Do you happen to know the Delco part number?
Should be Gr 9.195 Receiver Assy.; for '64-67 # 3155342.
That's the GM part number. Delco had their own numbering system. This tag has a number on it along with the date, but not GM. Just wondered if that was it.

Sorry -- misunderstood the question. OK, here's from the Delco Automotive Air Conditioning parts catalog, Jan 1974.
Corvette Receiver Dehydrator; 1963-1967 All .... "15-15"

OH well, that don't correspond with the number that was on the unit in the photo.
According to my notes on the back of the picture, the number on the sticker was " 145 8 Jan 27 67. The 8 has an underscore. Couldnt figure out how to write that.
