    Help me find this piece, please

    This is a tab that screws in under a heater blower motor screw for a ground wire. I snapped it off when I was pulling my battery out. It is probably a 50 cent pirece, but I do not know where to find one. If any of the reproduction companies has one a part number or part name would be helpful. Any help is appreciated. If it is not correct let me know that as well. Thanks.

    I can't find a part number for this piece. Even if I could, I doubt it would still be available from GM. Here are your options:

    1) Find another GM car of the period in a wrecking yard. It will likely have the piece you need;

    2) Fabricate one yourself. This should be quite easy to do from a piece of steel stock. Even easier if you can find a piece of stock the same as the major width and the same thickness;

    3) Purchase a GM #3033932 terminal. I believe this terminal has a 90 degree bend which you could probably use as-is or you could "flatten" it in a vise. I'm not 100% sure this will work, but it will only cost you about 4 bucks to find out.

      I would think most auto parts stores would have these or go to a junk yard and grab an old wiring harness and salvage the piece.

        Larry,

        that is listed in the long island corvette catalog as a blower motor ground terminal.

              Hi Larry got an old head light bulb, remove one of the prongs and make one. Phil 8063

                Now it is a mechanical problem

                Alright, I picked up a connector for now from NAPA. When I plugged the wire in I got a small spark and now the blower motor will not come on. It was coming on before and I have already checked the fuse. I am not great with electrical items. What is the likely culprit?

                Thanks.

                  If you had the starter off you might have installed the 14 gauge black blower ground lead to the pos term of the starter solenoid instead of to one of the starter mounting bolts.

                    The starter was not removed since the last time I turned on the blower so that would not have caused it.

                      Check for power at the orange wire at the blower in all blower speeds. Then check for power on both sides of the heater fuse. (with key on)
                      Does your turn signals and wiper motor work ?

                        Roger,

                        Thanks for your help. Although I am not sure why, it has begun working again. I unplugged everything, cleaned up some connections, plugged it back, turned on the wipers and blinkers, and now it works. Gremlins I guess (or dirty connections). But what is odd is that it worked before I replaced the tab.

                        Thanks again.
