    C2 Battery Orientation

I'm helping out a friend on his '66 Roadster. What is the battery orientation, "+" terminal closest to the engine black and "-" outboard? Also, what is orientation of shield, side of shield closest to block?

    Thanks,
    Lee

Note: there are TWO forms of battery mounting: (1) standard car, and (2) optional A/C equipped. The first mounts the battery + tray to the RH frame rail while the second mounts to the LH frame rail. You might get more response if you clarify your question! Plus, the AIM should show you the correct orientation of the battery + cable routing...

      Jack

I have an AIM for my cars but not for a '66. I'm trying to help out a friend I work with. This car does not have AC. Your help is appreciated.

Battery poles are closest to firewall, placing the negative pole toward the fender and the positive pole near the engine. On a BB the heat shield sits on the battery tray and the battery sits on the heat shield flange on the engine side. It can only go in one way.

Is the heat shield exclusive to BB?
