Harry, you really need to get the Authentication book from the NCRS if you really want to verify the Trim Tag. It is chick full of pictures and knowledge. It is one of the most informative books I have. Regardless, that is exactly what I am looking for - a maroon with black leather interior. Nice car. GOod luck with it.....Regards. ARA- Top

But for the stress marks (discussed in the trim tag book by Grenning/Sinor) angle lighting is best to bring up the relief. Check the '9' and the 'D'.
Here's an example of a tag I rescued from a boneyard (someone had already sawed off the birdcage bar with the VIN tag 194675S101497, which I'd seen on a visit a year earlier). You can see corrosion spots from being exposed to the elements.
