    "70" trailer tie down location

    Hi guys,
I am trailering my 70 for the 1st time and was wondering if it is ok to strap around the lower shock mount area for the rear tie down.

The front seems pretty straight forward going around the A frame area.

Any input would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

      Mark,

I sucessfully towed my shark cars many thousands of miles that way. Just recently I went to the "T" hooks that go into the frame holes that St. Louis used. I think both ways work.

I have used both methods in the past ... guess I am paranoid against car moving after I had this happen to 54 a friend's dad tied down while using my enclosed trailer...strap broke and car rolled back into drive up door damaging right tail light of car and making nice round hole in my trailer door. Must add he didn't use my 25,000 lb cargo straps but used some little motorcycle straps...lucky car didn't do anymore damage to it or trailer.

Thanks for the input Dave, It seems pretty solid to me but I thought I would ask the question before screwing something up.....
