Hello, again. Owner 1967 convertible 327. My windshield washer pump does not work. I tried the repair kit, but couldn't get the 'bell' off to replace. Then I bought a replacement from Ecklers, and installed, but it still doesn't work. I tried to prime the intake tube without success. Any ideas? Rich Weddle

Here's a thread from the archives which might be helpful:
Here's the picture that goes with the thread:
Here's a couple of other pictures that might be helpful:
Original on the left, replacement bellows on the right. To remove (or replace), stick your thumb in the bellows, push against the spring, and turn the bellows 90 degrees.
Here's a layout of the various parts of my 67 washer pump:
The main problem as I found were the quality of the little rubber parts in the replacement check valves. Sometimes a little vasiline or Sly-Glyde on the rubber parts give you a better seal.

Re: 1967 windshield washer pump
Jerry, I wish I would have seen this post about two weeks ago! I was going nuts out trying to get the bellows out, while the pump was still on the car. I never could get it out, so I just installed the white nozzle kit. Rubbed in some silicone dielectric grease on the gaskets and now it works like a charm.
If properly installed, you should only need to prime the pump one time. If the system does not stay fully charged all the time, then there is a siphon breaker somewhere in the system, which lets air into the system, breaks the siphon and the fluid drains back into the reservoir. PT- Top

Did you get your nozzles stabilized?
If you are going to change them anyhow, you might just just try a set if vise grips on them.Jerry Fuccillo
