Need to invest in a transmission jack but never used any other than the scissor type no more than a couple feet high. Since now I have a 4-post lift, I want a taller one. Local Northern Tool has two types, $149 single-stage that's nothing more than a ram jack and saddle on top of a pedestal and a $349 2-stage with foot pump. Or the place where I bought my lift, also local, has a 2-stage with foot pump on sale for $199. All advertised as 1000 to 1200 lbs (as if a typical car transmission weighed anything close to that). This is just a hobby so wondering if there's any advantage other than convenience. Any "got to have" features I should look for?
