I have repro bolt on wheels with redline bias and I can't stand driving with them any more. I am putting the rallys back with a radial and I like the redline.

I did the opposite, I took off my original rallys with their bias ply tires. Then I bought an original set of bolt-ons and put some radials on it for driving. I can always switch back to the rallys for judging, but I love the look of the bolt ons.

Mark, that is exactly what my car looks like. Silver coupe with bolt ons and red lines. Personally, there is no finer look. I can't afford the real bolt ons, and even if I could I would be paranoid about driving on them. I would venture to say that if I found a used set of repro bolt on that needed refinishing, I could get the color match a thousand times better than the current repro's and I assure you I am NOT the most talented guy on this forum.....WOuld be a fun experiment. Anyone want to donate a repro set of wheels for the experiment???? I'd redo them and give them back to ya and post pictures of them for all. Maybe even with some typing assistance I could even do an article in the driveline. WOuld be fun... GORGEOUS CAR MARK. GORGEOUS.....
I have a set of original KH bolt ons and have seen the newer set on the market. Yes, the color is off but the major difference is the back side if anyone cares. Nobody can, or will ever, be able to duplicate the casting marks around the rims of the original wheels. Not that it's a major judging issue and just for information.

Ara, Thank you for the compliments to my car. It's not like I bought the wheels from a financial point of view, but real bolt ons seem to go nowhere but up in value as there are so few of them. Repros just become old wheels. The key reason I splurged for the real wheels is that the car seemed to deserve it. The rest of the car (at 31K) is all original - including the paint so I thought I would carry on the originality theme.
And I do like to drive the car - but between the short season in Michigan, another Corvette, a demanding job, and a family deserving of my time, I just don't put a ton of miles on my car(s).
