    1965 water housing

    Is water housing # 3827369 or # 3827370 correct for a 1965 L79.

I am a fairly new member(NEWBE) and find this discussion board extremely helpful. My initial post concerning date coded glass directed me to Auto City Glass. All side, vent and windshield now installed and I am appreciative of the referal and very pleased with the product.
Thanks for all those that take the time to help others like myself.

Grant, Chevy sold two variations of this '370. The service replacement is totally incorrect. Not even the same angle.
Real deal has the part number in a slight arc across the top of the outlet.
SR has it in small letters down on the side.
Very pricey part to buy now a days. JD

            FWIW
Correct, John, and a point of clarity.
The original numbers "appear" to be individually "Stamped" accross the top of the housing, NOT cast.

John de G and Mike M.:
I believe this is an original example of the "370". This one's on my early '65 L76. Please excuse the rust (it used to be silver when I first had it ). On reading the '65 TIM&JG I realize that the split lock washers are a no-no; will correct .
