1955 air cleaner

is the material inside a 55 air cleaner still available and exactly what is it? does anyone know someone who can open this cleaner without damaging it?

If you carefully open the lip about 60% you can pull out the bottom lid then re crimp it back and have it chromed then remove*cut the amount of the crimp from the bottom lid and JB weld it back on to the top lid . The bottom lid is painted gray as seen on this NOS one.
