Is there a vendor at Carlisle that will have "Battery Tenders" for a reasonable price? I need 2 or 3.

I have "Battery Minder Plus" for my cars and I got them from Restoration Battery. They are hooked up to the car batteries 24/7. Not cheap but the best. PT- Top

Hi Gary,
Carlisle or from a number of the large Corvette parts houses (the latter can be cheaper as they sometimes offer a discount and free shipping at Carlisle). If you want a float charger that also desulphates (removes battery life shortening sulphate crystals from battery plates by using high frequency pulses), then you need something like the BatteryMINDer sold by a number of vendors including Restoration Battery for $45 and up.

Re: Battery Tender @ Carlisle
I just bought a new in package Battery Tender Plus on E-bay. The total price including shipping was $44.80. They cost about $65.00 plus shipping from some of the Corvette vendors who sell by catalogue.
Good Luck

I bought two battery tenders from Harbor Freight, $7.95 each. Put one on the Vette and one on my motorcycle. Been using them for over a year no problems.- Top

Try Amazon.com. They have excellent prices and free shipping. The Battery Tender Plus models are in the low $40 range. Best of luck!- Top

I have seen these. Do they shut off when charged? Or do they just keep up a trickle charge?- Top

Re: Battery Tender @ Carlisle
Gary, the best way for me to explain is to say that the Battery Tender Plus has some intelligence built in. When connected it tests the battery for a charge. If the charge is not where it should be it starts charging. As it is charging it keeps testing the battery. When it detects that the battery is charged it goes into standby mode and stops charging. Then on a regular basis it tests the battery and if it detects the battery is low it starts the process over again. This may not be exactly how it works but this is how I interpret what happens.
I've had one on my C6 for several years when parked and have not had a problem. I keep another one to change between two other batteries I remove for the winter.Last edited by Harry S.; August 21, 2009, 01:17 PM.

I'm with Clem, I have two Schumachers for $19.95 each, bought them locally, and they do shut off when charge is complete.
