    For (1968) Corvette Bronze owners

Who has repainted his/her car with a fresh spray of corvette bronze? What brand have you used and are you satisfied with the result?

I am aware of the various suppliers and the difficulties of getting this color right. Oh, considering base/clear.

    Thanks for any input,
    Erik

Steve, in you're quest for information on Corvette Bronze, you may also want to try some of the Camaro forums. Corvette Bronze (code OO) was also used on 1968 Camaros.

Thanks Sal, registered on Camaros.org and seems that PPG gets soms recommendations,

I can tell you that I had my Bronze 68 painted with PPG lacquer in 1990. I believe it was called "Bronze Poly". The color was beautiful, but WRONG! Too much Orange. At the time, (early 90's) the best repaints used DuPont paint. Sorry I can't give you specifics.

Only information that I can give you is from personal experience. It is best to use the "rust" colored primer when painting Corvette Bronze and Ontario Orange. If you use a grey primer, you will end up with color that is not correct.

Also, make certain that your vender is placing the exact amounts of dyes if using more than one gallon of paint. The slightest difference will change the color from one gallon to the other.

I have found that these colors are very sensitive when it comes to mixes and primers.
